Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how HorMart s.r.o. ("HorMart", "we", "us") handles data when you use the RscMe app and website.
Overview
RscMe helps monitor heart rate on Apple Watch and can send SMS alerts to contacts you choose. We designed the app to use only the permissions needed for this functionality.
Information RscMe uses
Depending on your settings, RscMe may use heart rate data from Apple Health/HealthKit, location data, and selected contact details so alerts can be sent.
Apple Health / HealthKit heart rate data
RscMe uses Apple Health/HealthKit heart rate data to provide monitoring and alert features. You can allow or revoke Health access at any time in iOS Settings.
HealthKit data is not used for advertising, marketing, or sold to third parties.
Location data
If you grant location permission, RscMe uses location only to include a map link in emergency SMS alerts.
Emergency contacts / address book access
RscMe requests contact access so you can select emergency contacts. Emergency contacts and alert settings stay on your device.
Alert Credits and iCloud sync
SMS alerts use Alert Credits. Credits may be synced via your iCloud account so your balance is available across your Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID.
SMS alerts
When alert conditions are met and credits are available, SMS alerts are sent to your selected contacts. Delivery involves Apple Watch, iPhone, mobile carriers, and, where needed, third-party SMS providers such as Twilio. We do not store message content on our servers.
App Store purchases
Alert Credits are in-app purchases processed by Apple. HorMart does not directly process your payment card data for App Store purchases.
Website analytics
The website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand website traffic and improve content.
Data storage and retention
We do not store heart rate data or location on HorMart servers. Emergency contacts and settings remain on your device. Data retention by Apple, carriers, or third-party providers is governed by their own policies.
Third-party services
RscMe and the website rely on third-party services such as Apple Health/HealthKit, iCloud, App Store billing, Google Analytics, mobile carriers, and Twilio where required to deliver SMS.
Children's privacy
RscMe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our servers.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, but no system can be guaranteed fully secure.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
HorMart s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). The legal bases we rely on are:
- Consent — for HealthKit heart rate data, location data, and address book access. You grant these permissions explicitly in iOS Settings and may withdraw them at any time.
- Performance of a contract — for sending SMS alerts and syncing Alert Credits via iCloud, which are necessary to deliver the service you have requested.
- Legitimate interests — for website analytics (GA4), where our interest in understanding how the website is used does not override your rights.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of personal data, where legally permitted.
- Restriction — request that processing be limited in certain circumstances.
- Portability — receive data you have provided to us in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — withdraw any consent previously given (e.g. revoke HealthKit or location access in iOS Settings) without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
Because most data stays on your device and we do not maintain user accounts or server-side profiles, many of these rights are primarily exercised through iOS Settings rather than through HorMart directly. To exercise any right or submit a data-related request, contact us at info@rscme.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country. The Czech supervisory authority is the Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (UOOU).
International data transfers
Some third-party services we rely on may transfer data outside the European Economic Area, including to the United States:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — operated by Google LLC. Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and other transfer mechanisms approved under GDPR.
- Twilio — used where required for SMS delivery. Twilio relies on Standard Contractual Clauses for EU data transfers.
- Apple (iCloud, HealthKit, App Store) — data handling is governed by Apple's own privacy framework, which includes appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions are posted on this page with a revised effective date.
